About me
Imaging Sound is a project created by Yeray Navarro Suárez in 2008. It's dedicated to sound design, audio restoration, foley, sound for films and music for any audiovisual project.
Aside from the most technical aspects, Imaging Sound also organizes workshops and other kind of events for all ages, trying to involve people not only in the world of sound, but introduce them into experimental music.

I created Canarias Experimental, a project that shows the avant-garde, contemporary and experimental scene in Canary Islands. I have done several workshops and performances for the Festival de Música Electroacústica, Vanguardias y Artes Digitales that was organized by Enrique Mateu, and in which I became later on 2017 the organizer of this festival. I also have organized some experimental music sessions in Gran Canaria and I am responsable of the Synthex synth festival. In 2016 I gave a Masterclass about MAX4Live for Ableton Live Canarias as well of several workshops about sound for films, like the one done in the Juvencorto Film Festival.
I have worked on more than 20 short movies, not only making live recording, but also sound design, foley, voiceover and music. Between some of these projects, there is "No Way to Paradise", by Ian Brooklyn, that was awarded in Los Angeles Film Awards, in the LGTBI modality. The short NOM directed by Angel Hernández and Manuel Peña, was selected in more than a hundred international festival, and no only selected between the five best sound design at the End of Days Films Festival, but also awarded best sound by the jury in the Things2Fear Festival where Alex Proyas made a special mention about the short. Some other works are the documentary En Tierra Perdida (Gran Angular) and the short movies Decadencia (Ayeli), 40min y Patio interior (Manuel Daute)
Some of my videocreations, likePrelude for a glass of milk with cocoa or Desolation have been projected in Museums like CAAM en Gran Canaria, but I have also done works like Opaque transparencies, My Brothel or Woman, base on the poems of the catalan painter and poet Susa Torres and they have been projected in Centro Civic Pere Bruna (Barcelona), Centre Cultural Collblanc - La Torrassa (Barcelona). I also created all the teasers and an interview for Ensemble Salvaje project, a jazz/rock/classical orchestra from Gran Canaria created by the jazz pianist David Quevedo.
In 2020 I restored more than 20 conferences for the Centro Atlantico de Arte Museum (CAAM). A really hard work if we think this tapes where recorded in old cassette tapes and sounded really bad.
As an experimental musician I have performed in the CAAMSonora cicle, Musical Mondays in the Conservatory of music in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, In & Out Impro Series, Imposibilidad del Vacio, NUMACircuit... as well as open an exhibition in Estudio 54 with the LYM Project with Lyndel Apivor and Manolo Cubas (Brutalomania)... I have done also several workshops about free improvisation, sound design and creative processes not only in Gran Canaria but in England. Nowadays I have a project about free improvisation with Lyndel Apivor that it's called Not Jazz.
